If you have ever been on a diet you know that you want to set a goal weight. And after all the hard work and sacrifice, when you finally hit your goal weight, you just want to make sure that you maintain that weight. Everybody hates the idea of putting on extra pounds because of momentary lapses in discipline concerning your exercise routine or your diet. It takes a good bit of will power to keep from eating an extra piece of cake at your best friend’s birthday party or order another beer when you’re out with the gang.Didn-t catch that? This explains it. And it takes even more discipline to convince yourself to get up in the morning and exercise when you know you already have a difficult day ahead of you or to run that extra half mile at the end of the day. But what if you could get away with all these things and still maintain your goal weight? Well maybe you can!
The important thing to remember when you are trying to maintain your weight is that you have to keep a balance between diet and exercise. When you are dieting you want to be burning more calories than you are consuming. Once you’ve reached you goal weight and you are aiming to maintain that weight, you just want to be sure that you are burning the calories as you take them in. That means that when you’re sitting at that birthday party with that cake on the table, you can go ahead and dive in! So long as you run that extra distance at the end of the day to keep yourself balanced This means that reaching your goal weight is not the end of the discipline and the will power (but it may mean a little more cake!)
